The two bedroom "cottage" and three bedroom "barn" offer self-contained Wanaka cottage accommodation for couples, groups and families alike. Located just 200m from the lake, each of these Wanaka cottages is a "home away from home"  with generous living areas and all-inclusive facilities. In ski season, the cottages provide the ambience of a traditional chalet or cabin, but with all the benefits of modern innovation such as radiant underfloor heating. 

We offer a special off season one bedroom rate which applies to our 2 or 3 bedroom self-contained cottages. The "1 bedroom" rate will secure your own spacious cottage just 200m from the lake, complete with lounge, kitchen, dining area, a choice of bedrooms and bathrooms and free use of on-site facilities. 

The self-contained cottages are designed to offer 1, 2 and 3 bedroom cottage accommodation for couples, groups and families alike. Serviced daily, guests in these fully self-contained Wanaka cottages are also treated to an under-the-stars hot tub, Internet facilities, laundry and other and inclusive facilities - ideal for couples, groups and families alike.

These Wanaka cottages combine traditional warmth and character with modern living, making a homely alternative to apartments, holiday houses and other types of self-contained accommodation. The award winning design is both environmentally friendly and historically sensitive. Set against a majestic parkland backdrop these cottages and the adjacent lodge are also an ideal base for a variety of other uses.

The two bedroom "cottage" 

The "cottage" has been crafted in traditional style from local schist stone, providing comfortable accommodation for 4. The master bedroom has king bed, ensuite facilities, and French doors leading onto the grassy courtyard. The second bedroom has a twin bed arrangement and an adjacent bathroom with bath and shower. The central open-plan living area is spacious, with full height ceiling, a well-equipped kitchen, seating for 4 in the dining area, and a lounge. The lounge has TV, DVD, French doors leading onto the grassy courtyard, and two sofas - one doubling as pull-out bed for occasional use. The special architectural feature of the cottage is a good old-fashioned hand-finished clay floor. 

The three bedroom "barn"

The barn is crafted from cypress timber, and provides comfortable cottage accommodation for up to 7 people. The master bedroom has king bed, ensuite facilities, telephone and French doors leading to the grassy courtyard. The second bedroom is attic-style and is usually arranged as king plus single. Bedroom three is also attic style with king. A second bathroom has bath and shower. The living area is spacious, with full height ceiling, a well-equipped kitchen, seating for 6 in the dining area and a lounge. There is TV, DVD and French doors leading to the grassy courtyard. One of two sofas doubles as pull-out bed for occasional use. The barn features a child-safe piece of architectural fun - an internal “bridge” which spans the living area to connect the attic bedrooms. With prior notice, all beds can be arranged as either king or twin.

Included in the tariff at these cottages, Wanaka: linen, servicing, taxes, use of hot tub, laundry, laundry powder, Internet Station in the adjcent lodge, parking. In other words: everything except telephone calls.
